Last year, in the heat of the global COVID-19 virus, Nigerian student Usman Dalhatu invented a a portable E-vent automatic ventilator and road sweeping machine.
His inventions attracted the interest of the Nigerian government leading to a collaboration between Dalhatu and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) to engage in the global commercialization of the inventions.
Now the student of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria has gone a step further.
He has invented a solar-powered gas cooker that also has a Television (TV) attached.
The target is for food vendors involved in the sale of roas-side food for customers such as Suya (roasted meat), fried/boiled maize, fried eggs etc.
A close firnd of Dalhatu expressed delight with his impressive creativity and innovation.
“When I met Usman back in 2019, he was already applying knowledge that we were still being taught in class as Final year students; he was a fresher then. I was amazed by his inventions & glad to have met him. I pray you find the BIG BREAK you so deserve, in HIS name The Exalted!”Yakub Abdulmalik
If the solar cooker is mass-produced, it would surely help in mitigating the emission of greenhouse gases commonly associated with outdoor cooking in Nigeria.
